Virginia's Blue Ridge Parkway

Braxton and I have enjoyed the trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway for years.  When the girls were little we used to stop along the way and hike.

  These days B and I enjoy a picnic around the lake at the Peaks of Otter Lodge.  The one mile hike around Lake Abbott is perhaps my favorite walk ever.

The speed limit is 45 mph along the parkway, so be prepared to take your time and lots of pictures.  We almost always see a few deer and hawks, and if you are very lucky you  might see the otters at Lake Abbott.  They make the most adorable chirping noises!
