COLOR COMBINATIONS: BLUE/PINK, BLUE/ORANGE, BLUE/RED

BLUE + PINK     BLUE + ORANGE     BLUE + RED

First up:  blue/pink

 I love blue and pink together!  Of the three combinations I think this one is the easiest to pull off because so many shades of blue and pink work together.  You can go bold (like the picture above) or soft (like the picture below) or a combination of the two which tends to be tricky with other colors.

I admit I have a soft spot for prep, it's so dang tidy.  The soft pink sweater lends femininity to an otherwise unisex style.  I always add a girly feature to a preppy outfit, usually bold lipstick or jewelry.

I don't normally go for smoky or  dirty colors, but this works.

I never get enough of super shiny walls, and that orange tufted sofa, oh my.

 Around here, wearing orange and blue together is a little tricky.  People will assume you are a UVA fan, which I am...my daughter being a recent graduate...still.  I can't help but love this combo.  Yes!

Not exactly my style, but I think this works because the quality of the blue and orange are so similar, both soft and dusty.

There is something about blue and red together that just looks so...jaunty. If you don't mind veering into nautical or patriotic territory, you can't go wrong with a red/white/blue combination, the white makes everything snap.

Wow I love this belt.  This outfit is pretty much what I wear every weekend (without the five strands of pearls).

I really really like that painting over the mantle...mysterious and cool.

She's tall for someone so basically adorable, which is why Taylor Swift can easily get away with wearing flats.  Love.

Love it when people make lamps out of art glass.  I have absolutely no problem with preserving the value of a piece  by letting the cord hang rather than drilling a hole through the bottom, it's actually pretty smart.

Going on a beach vacation?  I've found you the perfect earrings.

I think the art glass and the black stools keep this kitchen, with it's  white paneling, from looking too country.

I bet you didn't know  just how much you needed a blue ostrich lamp until now.

Not sure about the proportions of these shades, but I could stare at these gorgeous blue globes all day.

I love when people get cheeky with their wedding photos.  Definitely not mother-in-law approved.

I'm not big on bric -a-brac, but I seriously love that they match her turban!

Two things:  Yes to men in capes, and yes to  a blue/black combo.  Yes oh yes.

The giant blue lamp seems to be sneaking up on the rest of the room!  Perhaps he's planning his escape.

Just when I thought silver hair ruined everything!
I went shopping this morning, looking for a dress for furniture market next week, and I actually came home with a blue dress.  I know.
I would not even have tried it on, but for the fact it was almost identical to the dress Catherine Middleton wore for her engagement photo.  THAT dress.
Turns out blue looks great with silver hair.  So, I can live with never getting carded again, because I can totally rock a blue dress now.  Rock it.
