Jim Henson- Creating the Damn Happy

Jim Henson
1936-1990

Puppet Master

Jim Henson is one of my heroes. He grew up loving TV and began creating puppets in High School. Believing that puppets needed “life and sensitivity” he pioneered using foam rubber instead of wood to give them more expression.

His work with Sesame Street is legend. Not wanting to be stereotyped, he also created full feature films like Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal, taking puppeteering to new levels. He was an innovator and visionary artist. He made us laugh with the Muppet Show. He lightened the load with his art and his spirit.

Hope you enjoy!

Shine on! Braxton
