CUTE MOD SHOES

You may have noticed that the subtitle of this blog is;  Fashion.  Food, and fun decor.  If you've been reading this blog for more than a month you may have asked yourself if we were just kidding about the fashion thing.   Braxton and I have recently been so committed to the mod-ification of our home, that we have been completely ignoring our promise to mod-ify our wardrobes.  No more.
Last week I was trolling the Internet for some shoe porn and came across these lovelies.  I couldn't resist, so yesterday I opened my door to find a familiar box on my front porch (God, I love Zappos) and out popped my new mod shoes.
Are these cute or what?  They look great propped up on my coffee table...
While making dinner.....or even propped up on Braxtons desk.
They have a kitten heel, which I love, because at my height (or lack thereof) I always feel a little silly in high heels, as if I'm playing in my mothers closet. They remind me of Chanel even though they are Anne Klein.  They are also slingbacks, which is something I've had trouble with in the past, but these seem to fit nicely.  Most importantly, to me, they are feminine.  I've never been crazy about the chunky shoes that are so popular today - I much prefer lady like - just a personal preference.
Most women my age seem to have acquired a rather vast shoe collection.  Mine in comparison is rather paltry.  Not that I don't love shoes as much as they next person, I just happen to have some weird-ass feet.  They are tiny (size 5/5.5), wide and have a freakishly narrow heel, in other words nearly impossible to fit.  Which explains the following.........
These were once slingbacks.  That was before I preformed a slingbackectamy (the technical term I assure you).

Black patent Mary Jane's - adored by third graders everywhere.

They fit and they have a groovy purple lining.  Whoopee.

For those slightly more sophisticated days.

For those sophisticated days when I am feeling wicked witch of the west-y.

Adored by frumpy mall walkers everywhere.
Did you notice what all my shoes have in common?  No?........
They are all black.  That's because someone, somewhere, decided that elves like me only want black shoes.  Huh??
I sure hope the old kids are nice to the new kid.
While you are enjoying the splendor of my new mod shoes, one last time (I promise), I'll be over here pretending they were custom made by my friend coco chanel especially for me Audrey Hepburn.  A girl can dream, right?
BTW:  No animals were harmed in the making of these shoes.  Double Yippee!
Have a beautiful day.
YANCEY
