SETTING A MODERN TABLE

Modern Design At The Table

So far this week I've concentrated on Mid Century Modern tableware....it's time to put our hands together for the truly Modern.  I've searched the net for gorgeous modern tableware, let's see what I've found.
I love this sketchy design, it's both formal and childlike.  Perfect wedding china for the Modern loving bride.

A study done by Cornell University proved that kids (aka picky eaters) will eat more when presented with colorful food on a colorful plate.  In fact, the more colorful the better.
Hands down the best thing I've seen all day.  Do you see the fly  he's after on those flowers?  This makes me smile so big.

So fresh.  This makes me want to eat something healthy.
"A single conversation across the table with a wise person is worth a month's study of books"  Chinese Proverb
This disposable tableware is made from sugar cane fiber, bamboo and reed pulp, and is fully biodegradable and clearly a work of art.  How could you throw away something this beautiful?

It's orange, it has polka dots...what's not to love here?

The picture above and below is by a French company called Non Sans Raison, which makes luxury china in very modern designs...definitely worth a google.
Studies have shown that people will eat more when the food is the same color as the plate.  People eat more spaghetti with red sauce when it's served on a red plate, and eat more green veggies when served on a green plate.  People eat the least amount of food when it's served on a blue plate.  I guess that makes a blue plate a dieters best friend.
Now, let's check out some modern flatware.
This reminds me of camping.  I suspect the wide handles on those spoons would be a little difficult to use.
"I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck"  Emma Goldman
Sleek, modern, shiny.  Love love love.

"The man who can dominate a London dinner table can dominate the world"  Oscar Wilde
Reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright.

My favorite of the bunch.

I just had to include this one.
Do you appreciate modern design in tableware?  Are you a traditionalist?  A little of both?

Have a beautiful day.
