Our trip to Roanoke College in Salem Virginia

There were lovely old fashioned roses blooming all over campus.

The administration building

The old gym

The newest dorms in the background

So many gorgeous trees all around campus

I think the double glasses makes me appear well read.

In my opinion, the loveliest building on campus.  The office of the Bishop.

Between Braxton, our girls, and myself, we have attended many of Virginia's colleges and universities.  I love them all, really, but Roanoke College is where B and I met, so obviously it's my favorite.

I remember B was wearing a white button down, jeans, and white sneakers on the night we met....the uniform of  Virginia preppies in the early 80's.  He still makes that look good!
I was working up the nerve to say hello ( who am I kidding, I was admiring from afar) when I noticed that he wasn't around.  Neither was the girl he had been talking to, whom I've always referred to as Busty Betsy.  That really was her name.  Betsy, I mean.

He never seems to remember that night the way I do. Never seems to remember Busy Betsy.  Doesn't remember leaving with her.  All I know is one minute they were sharing so what's your majors's , the next minute they were gone.

Clearly, it all ended well.  Both B and I left RC before graduation and went on the greener pastures.  He transferred to the College of William and Mary and I went with him.
Now, one of our favorite things to do on any given weekend, is visit Roanoke College, and walk around campus talking about our futures like we used to.

If you have anyone in your life who is interested in attending a small liberal arts college in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia...come check out Roanoke College.  I'll be happy to answer any questions.

XO
Yancey
